Nate's 1st Communion

My godson and nephew, Nate, made his first communion this past weekend. Receiving a sacrament is a huge deal in our family so it was wonderful that we could all be together to celebrate this milestone in his life.

Church Shower and Easter

Time is flying by! We certainly have enjoyed all of the lovely spring weather and watching the flowers bloom in our yard.

The church hosted a wonderful baby shower for us a few weeks ago. It truly was a sea of pink!

We had great weather for our annual Easter Egg hunt. 50 people (including 23 kids) had fun searching for eggs and playing in the backyard last Saturday.

We also had a wonderful time celebrating Easter with our church family and friends!

2014 Snow Day

It's rare that we get a snow day in Mississippi! We enjoy spending a lazy day at home. Henry loved playing on his slide in the snow and throwing snowballs with Ricky. I'm especially proud of Henry for making his Southern Living debut on Instagram!

Thanksgiving, Disney & Christmas

November and December were busy months for the James family. We traveled to Birmingham for the Shaw Thanksgiving. Henry enjoyed playing with his cousin Nate and the big kids had fun playing laser tag the day after Thanksgiving (Ricky and I were the top players for our teams....natural competitors!).

The next week we traveled to Florida for a work conference/Henry's second trip to the Magic Kingdom. Grandpa Shaw joined us as we met Mickey Mouse, rode the Magic Kingdom railroad, enjoyed Dumbo and overall had a magical time! We were lucky to be there at the same time as our friends, the Stricklands. Henry and Gabi had fun exploring Animal Kingdom together.

Henry is finally starting to understand Christmas so the past few weeks were so much fun for our little family. The candlelight Christmas Eve service at St. Luke's was beautiful and then we had dinner with the Upchurch and McKibben families. Santa brought Henry a Polar Express train so he was one happy camper on Christmas morning! That afternoon we visited Mimi and Papa James in Dixie. Now we're looking forward to a Christmas visit from Grandma and Grandpa Shaw!

Merry Christmas!

For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
Isaiah 9:6

Merry Christmas from the James Family!
