On September 8, St. Luke's held its annual Blessing of the Pets. In addition to spending time with both our human and our furry friends, the church hosted CARA and a few of their wonderful dogs. We were all delighted to hear the following news the week after the event:
My name is Jack Welch and I am the new Chairman of the Board of CARA animal shelter. I would like to thank you on behalf of Jake and Rose Marie two of our CARA dogs who were there for a blessing. Jake got adopted by a lady who saw you bless him and fell in love with him. She even adopted his kennel mate Midnight. I found out that Rose Marie was adopted today by a young lady. The lady enjoys physical activity like running and Rose Marie loves to exercise. Thank you for the time you took to pray for and bless these animals. Jake and Midnight were with us for five years after their owner passed. Jake is blind in one eye and Midnight is a big black dog. Both had been with us 5 years. All those factors made adoption, coupled with the fact they had the same owner and had been lifetime kennel mates, a miracle. Just wanted you to know God answered your prayers and poured out blessings. Thanks for doing this event. Please share this wonderful miracle with your congregation and the joyful gratitude of Jake, Midnight, Rose Marie and CARA. Please include us again!
Yours in Christ, Jack Welch- Chairman of Board CARA
