1. Angel Care Baby Monitor

This monitor has night vision video, motion detector (if he ever stopped breathing), a temperature gauge, and two way sound. It is tricked out!
2. Swaddle Blankets and Swaddle Pods

While I was skeptical of these baby "straight jackets" at first, Henry would only sleep the first 8 weeks if he was swaddled. My advice for new parents-skip the old fashion swaddle blankets and get the "cheat sheet" ones with velcro. As Henry grew, the swaddle pods allowed him more movement and they were MUCH easier to use.
3. City Mini and Graco Snap and Go Strollers

Light weight and easy to fold-LOVE these two strollers! My favorite thing to do while on maternity leave was to take Henry and Penny on walks around the neighborhood.
4. Lamaze Horse
Trying to figure out what toy a young baby will enjoy is overwhelming. Luckily my mother shared her wisdom with us and Henry loves Sir-Horse-A-Lot.
5. Footed pajamas
Keeping socks on a baby is a nightmare! Who knew they could kick off socks and shoes so easily?! Footed pajamas are great for babies to sleep in and to lounge around in during the day. Trust me-if you don't keep your baby's feet covered (even if it's 100 degrees outside), people will make comments!
6. The Happiest Baby on the Block DVD
Skip the book and learn the 5's in than 10 minutes with the DVD. Lifesaver.
7. Burp cloths
You can never have enough burp clothes, especially the plain white ones.
8. Fisher Price Little Lamb Swing
At first, I was hesitant to buy a swing that takes up so much space in our bedroom. I'm glad I listened to all of my mommy friends because Henry loves the little lamb swing.
9.Tiny Love Day and Night Soother
Henry loves spending time in his swing watching his "tv". Since I didn't want to attach anything to Henry's crib, we almost missed out on this toy. A friend gave it to us and I was thisclose to passing it along to another new mom. As I started to put the toy in a bag, Henry reached out for it and started laughing. It now hangs on the back of our desk chair. Henry loves the lights and never knows what those crazy animals will do every morning.
10. Dinner from family and friends
We were so blessed to have meals delivered to us three times a week. I didn't cook for 3 months! As a new parent, you're lucky to get a shower let alone go to the grocery store and prepare dinner. The meals gave us the energy to care for Henry and additional time to bond with our little man.
