Growing up, my mother and father always created wonderful traditions for our family. This year, Ricky and I started a family tradition of our own. We enjoyed spending time with our families earlier this month and this past weekend but decided to stay home for Christmas day. Yesterday we celebrated Christmas Eve with our church friends and family and then had dinner with our adopted Jackson family (the McKibben/Upchurch crew). Today we spent the entire rainy day in our pajamas with our little guy. It was great seeing the joy on his face every time he opened a new present. There was no stress of getting dressed or being somewhere at a particular time. Even better, with nothing on our agenda tomorrow, there was no stress of a to do list, no laundry to be done, no bags to be packed. Thanks to technology and FaceTime, we were still able to "see" our loved ones (Mom, Dad, Erin, Shane, and Nate in Birmingham; Ryan in NYC; Ricky's parents in Hattiesburg; my little sis Natacha and her 3 week old daughter, Peyton, in Boston). Merry Christmas to all!
